HISTORY
Since its constitution, the Tribunal Arbitral de Barcelona [Barcelona Arbitration Court] has administered those arbitration proceedings that the parties have submitted to it by arbitration clause and has been actively involved in the promotion of the arbitration culture.
1988
Law 36/1988 of 5th December 1988, on arbitration, gave green light to institutional
arbitration.
1989
Foundation of the Associació Catalana per a l’Arbitratge – Tribunal Arbitral de Barcelona on behalf of ICAB, the Col·legi de Notaris de Catalunya, the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce and the Catalan Bar Council.
2009
The Autonomous Dean’s Office of Commercial and Property Registrars of Catalonia joins
the Associació Catalana per a l’Arbitratge.
2012
The Inter-collegiate Association of Professional Associations of Catalonia joins the
Associació Catalana per a l’Arbitratge.
